Am I Missing Something

| All the reviews for this book were "keepers", but not for me. This was my first Crusie book! Everyone said what a great writer she is - funny, sexy - you get my point but I felt alittle let down. I did'nt seem to laugh at all. I thought the story was good but Alex and Nina had no sexual spark whatsoever. They felt bland together. There was no chemistry! I liked her being older than him, it was nice for a change but Alex throughout the book kept saying how he liked her to his brother Max and she was the one for him. If I was Nina I would have never know that Alex was interested either. There was no "spark" between them when they were together. They seemed like really great friends. But thats it until 3/4 through the book when they finally kiss. I like "sexual tension" in my novels if I am reading romance and this story did'nt have it. They had a great friendship and thats very important also but I would have liked them to have more than that. And with all Nina's insecurities about her body because she was older it never seemed addressed. If that was a mojor point in the novel you think the author would address it between the two of them but she did'nt. So my point is do not make it a big deal then. I will give her another try tho because her writing style was good. I'll just try the library this time. |
