Torn by temptation

On a cold January afternoon, freelance writer and avid reader, Donna Reynolds, found herself in the library, staring at a copy of Danielle Steel's Amazing Grace.' Donna was torn by indecision and angst. Months earlier, she had made a solemn and public vow never again to read a Danielle Steel novel. But because she was an avid reader, the lure was too much for her to resist. Donna read the book under the cover of night, conflicted because, while she wanted to find fault with the book, particularly the punctuation, she could not. Donna, an avid reader, waited weeks, the decision haunting her every waking moment. On one hand, she knew that those who had read her solemn vow would call her a hypocrite and liar. On the other, she felt it only fair to offer up a two-star review of an author that she, an avid reader, had panned so blatantly in previous outings.
Finally, Donna relented. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but felt right somehow. Perhaps making such a vow was foolhardy. But in the end, Donna did post a review of the book, summing it up in one sentence... "More of the same, but with better editing."
