you love it or you hate it?

People, he is trying to be funny in an esoteric way.
For instance he has a real thing for chin whiskers,
actuaries and werewolves ( recurring themes).
He does seem to have some passing knowledge;
enough so that he appears to know
something about the areas he is making fun of.
So if you are a rich stuffed shirt actuary,
then you probably find his characterization offensive?
But if you are a more ordinary person, it might get you laughing at
the 'hanged man' tattoo?
If not actually all black humor,
a lot of it borders that region
and will offend some of the 0.5-1 % of people
who actually do know something about everything
and have no real sense of humor.
Since such people are heavy in the area
of actually reading books...offending your market
isn't always a good idea. His jokes mostly
don't go over as stand-up comedy, as you actually
have to think about some of them, they
aren't knee jerk reactions. |
