Okay to read, but not up to her normal standards.....

| I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the story was interesting. However- this book was not up to the standards of the former novels by Picoult. The magic weaving of the story was not there- I felt like her revelations at the end were a little pushed into the story instead of being a natural part of it. The character depth that she has always shown was missing. I did not finish this book and feel that sudden loss of a friend like I have with her other books. They never felt real. If I was not a huge fan of Picoult I don't think I would feel as disappointed by this book as I do. |
