Sorry, Andrews Fans...This One's a Miss

| I am a huge fan of this writer. She understands southern women, and eveything else southern. This book, however had an incredibly slow start. And I am not sure I can honestly say it was worth slogging through for the same old boy meets girl, boy finally gets girl ending. It wasn't near her best. You just don't much care about these characters. And Lisa does a complete character change from lazy, slobby lush to organizer of the world. Are we supposed to thing the love of a geek man did this? Too much angst. Ms. Andrews proved in earlier books that she knows the world of antiquing ...and she really made me interested in that and her realistic characters...and writes with such humor...I can't imagine what happened with this one! I'm still her fan for life, but just not so happy I pre-ordered this time. |
