| It is rare for me to find a TV series or movie superior to the novels on which they're based. First, I really liked the first two Dexter novels (4 out of 5 stars on my personal scale for each). Then, I watched Season 1 of the Showtime series and, while the first season is based on the first novel, there are a lot of twists added and the series soared. The second season was also a superior achievement. The third novel, on the other hand, fits this review's title. I found Dexter in the Dark to lack the feel and appeal present in either the Dexter of the first two novels or the totally engaging Dexter of Michael C. Hall. |
