Good book, great writing, interesting plot but longer than it needs to be

Buy this book and you'll get your money's worth. This is a huge book; it took me over a month to read. It is very well written. The characters are entertaining and well detailed. The main plot and all the sub plots moves along a little slowly but it is a well developed and interesting plot that keeps you going and wanting more. The writing is very detailed so that you can easily imagine everything that's going on. There is a wide variety of interesting characters from Rand, Lan, Thom and Nynaeve etc. that all seem like people you could meet in real life instead of some of the card board hero characters that you get in some fantasy books.
In summary I am anxious to read the next few books in the series. (although I heard the last three or four are duds). My only complaint is that the book is a little long. The reader really does not need to hear every conversation every character has with everyone they meet. There are a ton of five to ten page meetings with people that don't play a major part of the story or people that don't advance the story at all. The book would have been better if they edited some of them out and brought the size of the book to a little under 700 pages.
Great book... I can't wait to get to the second one sometime in the future.
