I am all for being environmental, saving the planet and making it stay around for my children's children. But if you right a novel about some bird kids that are being chased around the global by sadistic corporations bent on controlling the world through market product and bio-engineered creatures, DO NOT WRITE A BOOK ABOUT HOW TO BE ENVIROMENTAL AND LEAVE ALL PREVIOUS PLOTS OUT!!
I applauded Mr Patterson for wanting to write a novel to show how much he cares about his environment and try to get kids involved, but this was not the form to do it in. Too many accidental characters were thrown in for 'filler' and, as previously stated, all plots left behind. I felt that this book was rushed, and just too preachey for these characters.
If this was the first Max Ride novel that I picked up I would not have gone back and read the first ones. I am seriously thinking of taking it back and getting my money back. All I can say to Mr Patterson is if you are thinking of another soap box book, think again about the format that you want to put it in and make sure it fits with the previous stories. |
