This is one of the best DragonLance books I have ever read. I have been reading this series since the seventh grade and have read at least 45 books, and this has been one of the most dazzling books of the series. The truth is, a lot of the DragonLance characters get very boring and repetive after a while. Most authors use the same characters, elves, knights, humans, dwarves, and kender in their books. It is always the same group of people based on the group from the original Trilogy. Maquesta Kar-Thon provides new faces, new races, and a new story to the series. I loved the original characters and colorful ride, plus the fact that this is the first and probably only story where there are no kender characters.
What also is nice about this story is that it can be read outside of the series and the reader can still understand what is going on. The book does not completely rely the full DragonLance background and the casual reader can sit down and enjoy this book to its fullest potential without becoming confused. |
