| I had high hopes for this book, having loved the series of TALES OF THE CITY books. Unfortunately, this book simply doesn't deliver. The charm that was so integral in the first few books is lacking completely in this new volume. We find out what happened to Michael/Mouse and the rest of the gang since we last saw them, but none of it is especially exciting or interesting. It simply rambles along, drops a name here and there - Mona, Jon, Mother Mucca, Connie, Edgar - and then it stops. Michael Tolliver lives, but he's become the worst possible thing for a protagonist: boring. |
