A NEW EARTH
|
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle is interesting only if you have not been exposed to the "ancient wisdom teachers, new dimension within yourself,transcendence of thought, etc.. Also the seeking of spirit in stones and more easily flowers. The statement of "truth" not standing by itself but the inner consciousness being the correct path, The "I am".
Example: Pg. 57 end of first para. "the ultimate truth of who you are is not I am this or I am that, but I AM". So if you believe all truth lies within you (you are God) then you will totally enjoy this book.All of this teaching was popular in many parts of the country even in the early 1980's and before. Also the integration of all religions etc. is far from new. The statements as to what the real meanings of the words of Biblical quotes and inspiration he gained and passes on to us is less than exciting or new. The statement that we are now ready to accept it may be true.
Now the discussion of ego and love have good feelings to them and would tend to bring out the best from us so I can give a single star for effort. But with Opera's blessing I am sure these remarks will be smothered by the landslide that follows after this very nice lady, who I respect for all the good she does. |
