My New Best Friend

| I am one of those unfortunate people who cannot stroll through a bookstore without snatching something off the shelf and carrying it to the cash register and my bookcases provide testament to so many foolish purchases. So when I found myself with a copy of the expensive Pat Metheny songbook, I thought this is another purchase that looked good in the store but will see little use in the future. Far from it. As a fan and an amateur musician this hefty book gets a constant workout. The notation is great and the book is wonderful for anyone who wants to explore Pat Metheny's wonderful music. There are also little notes about each song written by Mr. Metheny at the back of the book. My only regret is that it would be just as nice to see a songbook of PMG music NOT written by Pat. But even so, this book is great. |
