| My daughter, then age 12, got the shingles, a disease usually reserved for older people. I didn't know what it was, but she was in quite a bit of distress. It was Memorial Day Weekend, and I had to take her to a walk-in clinic, the only place around that was open. They prescribed an anti-viral. When we got home, I looked it up in this book. It said that the drug was not approved for children. On Tuesday, I called her pediatrician, who agreed with the book & substituted a different medications. I was glad that I had the book and the information. Otherwise, who knows if I even would have called her doctor? |
