♥♥♥♥♥ Alot of work the night before
I had thought this was going to be a cookbook to save you time by preparing food in advance, similar to a OAMC approach however, all it does is have you make it the night before. So you'd be busy every night chopping, slicing and soaking bread in milk to then get up the next morning and bake something for an hour. To me that's not much of a time saver because it doesn't take much effort to make french toast fresh vs. the night before.

It is a good bed and breakfast type cookbook so if you were opening one or feeding a lot of people from a sleepover it would be good for that. All of the recipes are geared for feeding 8-12 people. Some were designed for 4 and some were designed for 16 but for the most part unless you're feeding 8-12 you wouldn't be able to make many of these recipes.

Like other reviewers stated, it's mostly breakfast recipes; lots of stuffed french toast and egg scramble casseroles. I can't say much bad about the cookbook, it is geared for bed and breakfast type dining which is normally laden with heavy ingredients, butter, rack of lamb laden in a gravy sauce so that's what you're going to get.

There are no pictures and it's a small cookbook not a normal 8.5 by 11. It looks like a homemade cookbook because the typeface is a typewriter print and the paper looks recycled, a little gray. So I wouldn't give it as a gift unless your best friend is opening a bed and breakfast.

Most of the recipes are not family oriented, lots of butter, cream cheese, heavy sauces and creams. All that translates to me as being costly and dirtying all my dishes. Not a diet you would want to consume on a daily basis. But certainly when you're on a vacation you don't always worry about those things. Hence: the bed and breakfast design.

Most of the recipes are from bed and breakfast's along the east coast. So if you had vacationed there in the past you might like some of the recipes from a nostalgia viewpoint.

Hope that helps. I'd just borrow it from the library and see what you think. It's not a freezer prep cookbook so you couldn't make several recipes and keep for the future. There aren't any freezer instructions and most of the recipes have a dairy product so wouldn't freeze well anyway.
