| I was driving from DC to Chicago a few weeks ago. Before I left I decided that I would give the audio book thing a try. I have several in concert DVD's of Black. I thought he was about as funny as anyone I had ever heard. I'm a 60 year old, government worker, well traveled and who is more cynical of the system as ever. I was driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when he I began listening. His bit on growing up Jewish made me laugh so hard I nearly drove my car into a semi. Later on listening to the bit on "corporate ball washers" I nearly drove off a bridge. He may be the funiest guy since Pryor. The book is terrific in that it is not just his routines, but his thoughtful, cleaver commentary on many of the problems we face and see each day. I highly recommend it, but warning to all, keep it out of the car. |
