Reilly has done it again with a fantactic and clever book. It's designed to be a sequel to Missing Links but can be read as a stand-alone just as well. Keep in mind that Rick Reilly is a 10-time national sportswriter of the year award winner so the guy knows how to write.
The book is funny. It's jam-packed with enough one-liners to keep you on your toes and Reilly lays out the story better than anyone. If you're a good golfer then you'll appreciate Reilly's expertise, if you're a hack then you'll identify with characters in the story as I did, and if you're not a golfer then you'll appreciate the great story line.
This isn't a typical golf novel where the writer dwells on what happens on each hole. It's a story. It's a darn good one. You'll laugh, you'll probably identify with one of the characters or know someone who does, you'll appreciate the relationship aspect of the novel and you'll close the book with a smile on your face. |
