O.K. I normally love Connie Mason books & although this one was still written well I found it a bit trashy. Way too much sexual encounters & not much depth. That's all that everyone in the book thought & cared about it. I can't believe life was ever like this for some women in parts of the world & the concubines in this book seemed to enjoy it way too much & seemed oblivious to the fact that they were slutty & that their way of life was wrong & for wives to just overlook the fact that it was all right for men to have all these women just sickens me.
I found it kind of funny the camel traders name went from Rachid to Rashid & back to Rachid. It wasn't just a typo because it was used many times at 3 different times in the book & changed in each section.
The writings good & the storyline isn't bad but if I had to do it over again I'd probably pass on this book. Jamal was not a likable hero & Zara was strong at fighting in battle & coming to the rescue of her loved ones but other that that I felt she was kind of weak & uncaring to what was going on around her. |
