Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Prima Official Game Guide (2008) - Bryan Dawson
This is absolute garbage. In fact, it might be the worst game guide I've ever purchased. Ok, to be fair, all of the single player strats might be pretty effective and the overall guide for the Subspace Emissary is probably thoroughly comprehensive. However, this is a fighting game, and in fighting games, only the competitive side of the game really matters. And, in this aspect, this guide utterly fails. First of all, in a game with this much depth, its a little suprising (don't you think?) to give only TWO PAGES of strategy per character? If the strategy were good, then it might be different, but there's only one TINY paragraph given under one-on-one strategy per character. And then there's the strategies themselves, all extremely vague and general that they don't help in the slightest. Some of the tactics are so ridiculous, in fact, that they are absolutely hilarious. Take this quote for example under the Advanced Strategies section for Zelda/Sheik: "For advanced strategies, Zelda players must turn to Sheik." Amazing, huh? In other words, Zelda has zero advanced strategies. Truly hilarious. Yeah, don't buy it. |
