X Men go outerspace!

This book is the 2nd in a trilogy made by Ed Brubaker en Billy Tan. It follows the events after Uncanny X Men: Deadly Denesis. Vulcan is heading to outerspace and is looking for revenge on D'Ken, the old ruler of the Shi'ar empire. Professor Xavier groups up a few members of The Uncanny X men: Rachel Grey, Warpath, Havok, Polaris, Darwin and Nightcrawler to follow him into Space. Together they get an old Shi'ar ship and of they go.
I like the imagination of Brubaker and his team, the whole background of Vulcan and the space adventure can sound a bit to much, but if you like the X Men like i do they can get away with everything. I didnt know Warpath that good but they made him pretty cool. Also Darwin, who first came up in Deadly Genesis is very cool, i hope he wil star in more X Men storys.
I dont know what to think of Vulcan, but the whole story in this book is cool and big. The art of Billy Tan is great! very realistic en hard (bloody). Three chapters in this book are illustratd by Clayton Henry, the miniissues about Vulcan in space, and you can really see the difference. They are more cartoonic while the illustrations of Tan are more lifelike. The classic X Men do not have a part in the storyline, except for Nightcrawler, but at the end The X men will have a new member!
It feels like a X men meets Star Wars but i like Star War also so who cares. The end to this trilogy will be X Men: Emperor Vulcan! I will also buy that one. I dont know if this will be a classic X Men story but if youre a fan just pick it up, its nice enough. |
