Actor Jim Norton did a wonderful job creating a special voice for each of the book's characters. I could see how the chapter three sermon on hell would be terrifying to young Stephen and yet come across as ironic and manipulative to someone more mature. Definitely buy this Jim Norton version. Do not get the Donal Donnelly version that one reviewer recommends -- I followed his advice and it was a huge mistake, now I am purchasing the Norton version. The Donal version is haltingly slow with disruptive pauses between each word, even in dialogue. It's so bothersome -- the reading is like a 3rd grader w... »
