I haven't seen the original Gospel of Judas in person, but I imagine that this is a very accurate translation. The author annotates exactly where a passage leaves off and starts again; the author also fills in some of what was missing if it seems obvious which makes it easier to read.

This is a good basic introduction to the history of Western Civilization up to 1715. It is nothing special by any means. It also suffers from the typical, horrendous, and inexcusable overpricing of textbooks.
