My views about the Turkish culture have completely vanished, for a couple of reasons. For one, this book helped me understand the historical nature of Turkey, their composition, and their underlyings as it relates to its culture. This is an excellent book for what it is---but it was not quite what I was looking for. Ataturk is a fascinating individual who dictated wideranging reforms. I wanted to know how and why he came by his phylosophies--other than he believed the church was a huge detriment to society.
