Can Higgins write a single page without his characters drowning themselves in Bushmills? What world does he live in? The plot is predictable, the dialogue old and clipped, the characters all know their parts and seemed bored by it all, and thus this is my last Higgins novel I'm afraid. In an election year, Michael Palmer has added politics and a bit of nanotechnology to the excellent medical fiction he writes. I found the writing to be excellent, the characters well-drawn, and the surprises just kept on coming until the very end. I'm looking forward to Palmer's next work.
