I read this book several years ago. After reading "The Rapture of Canaan" by the same author, I had to get this book as soon as it was published to see if it was a fluke. It wasn't. One would hesitate at a book that takes place primarily in a cemetery, but this wonderfully written book is in a class all by itself. Beautifully different.... »

The other reviewers have said pretty much everything about this book. It's an interesting tale which covers a broad range of life lessons; coming of age, abstinence, drug and alcohol abuse, racism, prostitution, paranoid schizophrenia, etc... The book is very well written; Reynolds no doubt has a true gift for writing. BUT... the story did not grab ... »
