I've read the King James version of the Bible and to be truthful, didn't really retain much of narrative or the important points. This version uses current English and reads much easier. The stories are the same--it's just an updated language version. Now I understand it and will remember. I also like the inserted articles that pertain to current life.... »

I've heard NIV and God's Word Translation bibles narrated by Stephen Johnston and they don't measure up to this one. While I love the GWT, the NCV (2005 revision) is a solid translation as well, and is especially good for reading aloud.
