I love astronomy but I am far from an astrophysicist; Neil Degrasse Tyson bridges the gap in this book. My first reaction was, "Why hasn't any of this been in the mainstrem media?"
Nigel Calder's attempts to explain very difficult concepts is impressive. The chapter on Cosmic Rays is alone worth the price of the book. Calder should be writing textbooks. That being said, this book is not for casual reading. It requires thoughtful reading and... »
