This book was a disappointing effort by Kay, especially in light of almost all of the other books he's written. The saddest part about it is he ties it into his first and possibly best work, The Fionavar Tapestry. By extension, pulling that trilogy down with it. I loved The Summer Tree, once I got used to Kay's writing style, but I hated The Wandering Fire.
