First of all, this book will be hard to follow unless you have read PANDORA'S STAR and JUDAS UNCHAINED. Hamilton does not waste much space catching up the reader. If you are not familiar with the characters from that story, their reappearances in this one will not make any sense.

I'm not sure how anyone who has read Robin Hobb's prior books, not just this trilogy but the three others she's written, can read this book and say it disapoints and isn't as good as the others.
