Very very disappointing. I loved all the Nantucket and Willamette books, but this has seriously lost its way. Swathes of padding to get it up to trilogy pt 1 length, with a plot scheme that is so obviously based on FotR that nudge nudge references to it don't undermine the sense of ripoff / sour taste. End of book one and the party of nine are defeated... »

I agree with the negative reviews stating that the premise is ridiculous because the science behind it has so many inconsistencies. I also agree that the Wiccan stuff was really boring, distracting and annoying as all get up.
