Unfortunately for us, Borodin wasn't a full time composer, but only one of the "might handful" was.
However, he did leave us with this work, his 2nd Symphony in B Minor. If you enjoy the brass of Wagner, parts you'd swear were Mahler-esque, and Russian themes, you'll love this symphony.

I don't what gremlin invaded the printing plant, but the first signature is overinked or overprinted in such a way that pages appear almost transparent, so that runs of eighth notes on a verso appear on the recto and vice versa. It's only the first sig, so you get used to it, but it's a serious defect and presumably would make for some tough orchestral... »
